Jakub Jurkovič, BS

Graduate Researcher

I am a graduate student in the Molecular Biology and Genetics Department at Cornell pursuing my PhD in Genetics, Genomic and Development. I graduated with a BSc in Biology from New York University Abu Dhabi. During my time at NYU AD I was studying the variation in single-cell immune response to P. falciparum between two distinct populations in Burkina Faso. I have also participated in data collection from donors in Morocco, as a subproject of HCA's Immune Cell Atlas. For my PhD, I am interested in the intersection of computational biology and gene regulation, and the usage of neural networks as a method for new biological discoveries. When not in the lab I enjoy reading fantasy, playing video games, hosting board game nights and baking.
